Automobile design.

 It usually takes about three years to design a car. The phase they start at is the sketching phase. Design is called problem solving because the designers have a certain criteria they have to follow so that the design is ascetically pleasing. The feasibility stage is taking the sketches that they like and evolving them into something that maintains the theme. Id like to design a car because i like to work on cars.

For individuals or businesses that require a vehicle with a single large enclosed area, a van could be a leading choice for drivers. Capable of securely holding a large amount of cargo or passengers, vans are significantly styled for practicality rather than other factors such as performance. From the 1930s to the 1980s, vans were almost entirely based on truck-like chassis structures.

Careers in the Automotive Industry

1. Some of the high-tech systems on auto mobiles today that were unheard of 30 years ago are the nation’s fleet of vehicles: stability and traction control systems, adaptive cruise control and variable valve timing, just to name a few. 
2. Areas that young people should have skills in for a career as an automotive technician is young persons with math , science, communications and technical skills.
3. Some advantages in obtaining an education as an automotive technicians versus other high-tech educational options are careers that require four, six, or even eight years of college, automotive technology careers can begin after just two years of education. 
4. Many new jobs and at what percentage of growth do they forecast will occur in the automotive technician field up to 2020 are expected to add 237,500 new jobs and have a 30 percent growth rate through 2020.
5. One thing that the automotive technician career is fairly "immune" to that has threatened other career is with the outsourcing of jobs picking up steam – first manufacturing jobs, now computer programming, customer call-center work, and accounting services all going overseas – it should be comforting to know that automotive service and repair is fairly immune to such moves.
6. Four other positions that an automotive technician can do in the automotive industry are parts distribution and wholesaling; collision repair, painting, and damage estimating; vehicle maintenance, repair, and performance upgrades; and motorsports.
7. The automotive technician role sometimes called "the portal career" because In fact, so many people have started their careers in the automotive aftermarket as an auto technician that it is viewed as something of a portal career. 

• Some aspects of being an automotive technician that I think I would enjoy is working on cars.
• One or two things that I found interesting about the video is seeing how they work are the cars.
• This notion of life-long learning and why it is important and necessary is you have to keep on learning because technology keeps on changing.
• I think some characteristics and skills someone should possess when considering a career as an automotive technician is knowing how to tell what's wrong with a car. 

Certification in the Automotive Industry

NATEF- The purpose of NATEF is to improve the quality of automotive technician training programs nationwide at secondary and post-secondary, public and proprietary schools.

SGS- The purpose of SGS is to manage your supply chain, provide safe and reliable vehicles, improve quality, efficiency and safety, and reduce environmental impact.

ASE- The purpose of ASE is to improve the quality of vehicle repair and service by testing and certifying automotive professionals.

Jobs in the Automotive Industry

The job I would enjoy the most is Classic car restorer because I like classic cars and it would be fun to restore them. 

The job I wouldn't enjoy is Automotive journalist

Tech for the Sake of Tech

1. No I don't think that this generation would feel the same because a lot of people cant go a day without a phone.
2. I think that this help's people stay away from dangers but you still have to pay full attention on the road.
3. The importance of technology in a brand new car are very important because you have to know what you are buying and how the technology works. 
4. One new feature I would look for is having a phone built into the car for I am not distracted from the road.
5. One thing they might of thought in the older cars that were not needed was seat belts or air bags maybe.

Technologies in Development

• Out of the six emerging technologies discussed in the article that I read about the one that is less likely to happen is the flying car is because all things that must be done to the car to get it to fly and every one would have to get there pilot license to fly the car.

• The one I think will have the biggest impact on society is Autonomous Cars because it can drive by it self so people who don,t know how to drive car use this car. 
• Out of the six of them the one which is likely to be the first technology used in auto mobiles is Next-Gen Active Safety Features.
• I think this technology could help keep drivers and their passengers safer because it will find out how stress out the driver is so if you are to stress out for driving. 
• My thoughts on this technology is fly cars are it looks cool but I don't think many people would want to use it.I think the benefits and the disadvantages of having an auto mobile that can travel by land and air are a advantage would be if you want to get some where fast you can fly there not drive. a disadvantage is it would take up to much room on the road. 
• I stand that I like driving myself so I wouldn't like self driving cars and I wouldn't trust them.

7. Benz experience as a pioneer in technology that many pioneers never experience is to see his dream come true.
